Just for fun I, Gloria Poole [RN, artist] tried again using a graphics program to create what I label as 'clip art" meaning simple design intended for things like making stickers, or cutting and pasting [if I printed it]; and this time I signed them in digital ink and my signature in play-ink looks sorta respectable. Sorta is a Southern word Yankees and foreigners might not understand. I think these probably do not require titles. Copyright below sketches.

This "old rugged cross" is sketch I drew to remind all that I am Southern Baptist/ Great Commission Baptist Christian, divorced twice/single-again white woman. This is to clarify that I am NOT catholic and do not worship images of any sort. The christian cross does not show graven image of what is supposed to be JESUS on it since HE ascended to heaven and was seen alive on the earth by many people before he ascended. JESUS rose from the dead. Read the new testament in King James Holy Bible for more about JESUS The Messiah.I have painted and sketched the christian cross several times. I have posted some of those to other blogs of mine. I also have tangible christian crosses on all walls of mine to represent the fact that JESUS rose from the dead and is alive forevermore in heaven and is my protection.

For the record and to establish provenance of art I have already created also: the art I have created and signed and posted to this blog of mine is part of an on-going series of art I created since year 1991 beginning in Atlanta, GA that "blossomed" in year 2005 in Aurora, Colorado when I lived there for one year [May 2006-May 2007], and art began to really become an integral part of my efforts to save the baby humans from premeditated destruction. In 2005, I began to realize I could use the art to illustrate my talking points in some cases, and to build a secondary "career' for me as artist. In the year 2006 when I had endured and lived to tell about it a violent crash down a flight of stairs and had trauma, fractures, concussion, because my then-husband DBP tried to kill me to 'make it look like an accident" and he tried to twist off my broken leg, I had immobility for months except on crutches and walking boot after surgery to repair fractures and implant metal. As I sat with leg propped up I began to draw daily and paint to occupy the time and my mind. I also began to post art to the web on my blogs and websites, and also photographs I had photographed. I began a series of art then that is named "ethnic series by Gloria" [me] to attempt to draw and paint an art work of every ethnic group tribe, language, culture in the world and I created eight initial oil paintings in the first batch and posted them to the web on domains of mine. I moved from Aurora to zip code 80203 for 2 and 1/2 years and then moved to Missouri on Oct 31, 2009 with the art I had in my possession at that time. I paint some of the sketches I created in do-overs into oils on canvas and those are very visible on the web. I put many of them on my mini exhibit of art at https://mini-exhibition.blogspot.com, and also on my Picasa albums at https://picasaweb.google.com/gloriapoole.

I love boats and marinas of all sorts. I lived most of my life in a coastal state of Georgia where I was born. I have been on almost every sort of boat made except a cruise ship. White water rafting sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia.

I, Gloria Poole, drew and painted this sketch this morning from about 6 am to 9:00am. I photographed it several times trying to get it correct [upright and not leaning lop-sidely] and then posted it to this blog of mine. Years ago, when I worked in the operating room as a R.N. Circulator, I was invited to go white water rafting with a group of doctors and nurses. I read up on it some because I knew almost nothing about it. I decided not to go because they were going to a class 5 river. At that time, my 2 daughters were young and I was their main source of support. I realized it was very high risk and dangerous. Though I don't worry about what happens to me after I die because I am going to heaven since I am born again believer, I did worry what would become of my two daughters if something catastrophic happened to me. So, I have drawn a white water kayaking sketch before this sketch. I guess it is a way of living vicariously through my own art in some situations. Many of the things I draw, sketch and paint, I have upfront and close personal experience with. But there are many ethnic peoples I have sketched and or painted that I have never met in real life. I modify those images to make them not so recognizable to the public if they are of private people. The so-called "people" in the raft are not real people--just composite people, people I created with a pencil and paint brush and inks and acrylics. Painting water of any sort is a challenge because it has shadows, reflects the surfaces near it, varies in appearance depending upon the light and time of day. I never quite feel like I get it exactly right. Painting a white water rapids is like painting churning liquid that moves about 60mph! So, it's a challenge even greater. So, this sketch is not perfect but here it is. I named it "High Voltage" to imply the danger of white water rafting in a class 5 river. I painted them wearing the traditional Coast Guard approved life vests and helmets. I painted the blue helmet to designate the "guide" to make different from others. Also, I have sketched and painted sail boats, canoes, yachts, kayaks, motor boats several times and I posted them to other blogs of mine that I post art too, including

I , Gloria Poole, drew, and painted this with inks then photographed it, then uploaded it to this blog. This is my second sketch/ attempt to draw on paper and paint the particular subject of what appears to be a long room with overhead beams. Since I was so rusty painting with inks, I tried again. Also, I simplified the design on the floor and the far wall until I can learn to draw perspective of long room with corrected floor and overhead beams. The second drawing of this idea is below this painted version of it, so you can see it in its most basic form.

This is the graphite pencil drawing of the above sketch as it looked before I painted it. I also include the pencil drawings intermittently as a way of documenting that I draw in free-hand, meaning I am not in any way replicating any body else's art. If you scroll to the previous post, you will the first attempt/ sketch of this particular idea of trying to create a sketch of the sort of room one might see in a castle or mansion; and similar to what I did see when I visited a castle in Germany [yrs ago]. Also, for purposes of documentation: I made some changes 2 days ago to this account of mine in an effort to secure it from cyber-criminals.

For the record and to establish provenance of art I have already created also: the art I have created and signed and posted to this blog of mine is part of an on-going series of art I created since year 1991 beginning in Atlanta, GA that "blossomed" in year 2005 in Aurora, Colorado when I lived there for one year [May 2006-May 2007], and art began to really become an integral part of my efforts to save the baby humans from premeditated destruction. In 2005, I began to realize I could use the art to illustrate my talking points in some cases, and to build a secondary "career' for me as artist. In the year 2006 when I had endured and lived to tell about it a violent crash down a flight of stairs and had trauma, fractures, concussion, because my then-husband DBP tried to kill me to 'make it look like an accident" and he tried to twist off my broken leg, I had immobility for months except on crutches and walking boot after surgery to repair fractures and implant metal. As I sat with leg propped up I began to draw daily and paint to occupy the time and my mind. I also began to post art to the web on my blogs and websites, and also photographs I had photographed. I began a series of art then that is named "ethnic series by Gloria" [me] to attempt to draw and paint an art work of every ethnic group tribe, language, culture in the world and I created eight initial oil paintings in the first batch and posted them to the web on domains of mine. I moved from Aurora to zip code 80203 for 2 and 1/2 years and then moved to Missouri on Oct 31, 2009 with the art I had in my possession at that time. I paint some of the sketches I created in do-overs into oils on canvas and those are very visible on the web. Cavernous room sketches by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia

. Today, I drew and painted this, then repainted it several times. If you scroll to the bottom of this post you will see the basic preliminary drawing in pencil that I drew, trying to paint one of those cavernous rooms like in a castle that seem to stretch for miles and that are elegantly appointed. You will see if you study these photos I photographed at different stages of this first attempt of mine to draw and paint an elaborate room, that I had the perspective of the room wrong in the drawing. I didn't realize it at first. When I started painting it in inks with a brush, I knew immediately that the angle of the floor was wrong. So I did it over, "erased" the mistake as much as possible first with silver ink, then when that didn't cover the mistake, I painted over it with white paint. So then I rephotographed it to see if it looked like a 3 dimensional room from a distance. Then I painted it again. Then when the gold ink didn't cover the mistake I repainted the "walls" with golden yellow acrylic paint. In the process, I smeared ink more than once! And if you look at my signature in ink w/ calligraphy pen, you see that the ink bled onto the paper because the paper was already wet with ink! I painted with iks quite abit in year 2008 and 2009 but haven't much since I moved to Missouri in Oct 2009. Someone broke into my apartment and stole the silver nib-holder I had and though I have other dip pens they were not designed specifically for the set of colored inks that I have. So, I have to relearn the technique. I realized form this effort over about 3 hours this am that I had gotten very rusty with this technique. This is obviously a do-over again. I totally messed up the pattern in the floor by re-painting the juncture of the wall and floor several times. But I learn from drawing and painting sketches and that is why I do that. Well. One of the reasons I do that. I love to draw and usually it is very relaxing to me. I studied drawing for an entire year at age 17 [man years ago] and it is my way of de-stressing usually. I also studied oil painting after I had already become a Registered Nurse and worked at hospitals as a creative hobby that was relaxing in my off-duty time. Just study the sketches and you will understand the changes . This is my first attempt to draw a sketch of a huge, long room with a patterned carpet and overhead beams, and a cathedral ceiling. I have to try again and next time it will look better. Michelango, the famous artist, said if you draw something one hundred times, you master it. So this is drawing number one in a series of cavernous rooms. But I draw often and have posted pencil drawings I drew in graphite, charocals, watercolor pencils many times to other blogs and probably also to this one.

Lighthouses created by Gloria Poole of Missouri

This first sketch is a do-over because I was not happy with it before. It is a lighthouse with a cross as a wind vane. It is acrylic on 14 x 17 paper. I, Gloria Poole, drew, painted, signed, photographed and uploaded all art on this blog and on all blogs of mine. I lived on St Simons Island Georgia for a year and it is lovely way of life. And it has a lighthouse. I have always been fascinated with lighthouses since a child--ever since my then-living-grandmother on the coast of Georgia told me that the ships used the light from the lighthouse to guide them into shore.

This is the 3rd attempt of mine to draw and paint a pretend ballerina. I was not attempting to draw a real ballerina in any of these sketches and created all of these with paper and pencil and paint. My first attempt to create ballerina is the last sketch on this post.

This is my sketch of a prima ballerina dancing on stage. It is also on another blog of mine.

This is the 2nd attempt to draw and paint a ballerina.

.This sketch is a ballet on the stage and it was waaaay harder to draw in motion than I thought it would be. I have tried to draw motion into sketches before with better results than on this sketch. But this sketch also serves a purpose. It shows me the areas I need to improve in. I sort of took a time-out from drawing and painting ballet sketches after this sketch because I was not happy with it. It is posted on another blog of mine and the others may be also, but this is all of them together, which helps me and others [you viewers] see if I am improving.

Another attempt to draw and paint an actual ballet but by modifying the faces and people to make them "pretend people" not real ballerinas. This sketch is pathetic . I was not happy with it all. I do not have much experience creating lots of not-real people all gathered in one place and making a composition of it to paint. I am making efforts to expand my skills to get to the point where I could draw and paint something like "the boating party" or Michelango's Sisten Chapel. It might take me another 20 years of practice to get that good.

This sketch is the prima ballerina putting on her makeup in the dressing room. She is also not a real woman but is shown applying her lipstick while wearing her wrap-around shower towel-thing. I have two daughters who took ballet for years and I saw the backstage area for recitals for years. My daughters did not want to be prima ballerinas but they did want to learn poise and grace and good posture and ballet did that.

This is my sketch of a tiny girl who is at her first ballet lesson dressed in her tutu [which is usually not worn at practice] and in her leg warmings and with a long sleeve t-shirt instead of a leotard. This is a watercolor sketch only and I might repaint it into acrylics at some point in time. It is also on another blog of mine.

This was my first attempt to draw a ballerina, years ago, and I was inspired by the Degas dancer series to see if I could paint those tulle tutus and make them look like tutus.

Peacock abstract sketch and surreal sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri

. I, Gloria Poole, drew this with watercolor pencils then used a wet brush to wash over it. Then signed it and then photographed it several times with and without flash on camera. I think peacocks are some of the most gorgeous creatures on the earth. I wish I owned one! I have sketched them several times trying to "capture" with pencils and brushes their beauty but so far, it doesn't come close to the splendor of the real thing [the peacock] . This is watercolor on 91 x 12 paper. . This second sketch is obviously surreal. It's just a fun sketch, no "theme" intended, and not much thought put into it. I was thinking about another sketch I created in past few days and couldn't decide if I believe in aliens. I drew with watercolor pencils, put "wash" with water over it with brush, signed, photographed , uploaded it. I myself have photographed many times what appears to be a spaceship and I uploaded some of those photos at different times to online albums of mine and blogs. So, the sketch sort of morphed from an abstract to an surreal when I added in the alien hand. This is also watercolor 9 x 12 inches.

This third sketch is the one I was thinking about as I was drawing the second sketch. I couldn't quite decide if I wanted that to be a grasshopper or an alien! So, it influenced my thinking/drawing on the above sketch. I actually drew this third sketch before I drew the second one and thought on it a few days, decided to leave it as it was. I drew this on dry media paper [which I often do--start with graphite pencils, decide to paint over it,] so it looks very different on that sort of paper.

Also, I paint with watercolors [from tubes] and also liquid acrylics, and goauche, and tempera and also oils. Occasionally I paint with the thick acrylics that come in jars. And occasionally I create with powdered pastels [applied with special tools] and pastel sticks. And I draw with graphite, charcoal. watercolor pencils, chalk pencils, acrylic [polychrome ] pencils at different times. I draw often when I am resting from exhaustion so I use pencils to create the basic idea then paint it or not. I vary the medium to learn, and also just because I want variety in the art I create.

For the record and to establish provenance of art I have already created also: the art I have created and signed and posted to this blog of mine is part of an on-going series of art I created since year 1991 beginning in Atlanta, GA that "blossomed" in year 2005 in Aurora, Colorado when I lived there for one year [May 2006-May 2007, and art began to really become an integral part of my efforts to save the baby humans from premeditated destruction. In 2005, I began to realize I could use the art to illustrate my talking points in some cases, and to build a secondary "career' for me as artist. In the year 2006 when I had endured and lived to tell about it a violent crash down a flight of stairs and had trauma, fractures, concussion, because my then-husband DBP was scheming a way to kill me to 'make it look like an accident" and he tried to twist off my broken leg, I had immobility for months except on crutches. As I sat with leg propped up I began to draw daily and paint to occupy the time and my mind. I also began to post art to the web on my blogs and websites, and also photographs I had photographed. I began a series of art then that is named "ethnic series by Gloria" [me] to attempt to draw and paint an art work of every ethnic group tribe, language, culture in the world and I created eight initial oil paintings in the first batch and posted them to the web on domains of mine. I moved from Aurora to zip code 80203 for 2 and 1/2 years and then moved to Missouri on Oct 31, 2009 with the art I had in my possession at that time. I paint some of the sketches I created in do-overs into oils on canvas and those are very visible on the web. I, Gloria Poole, am a white, Southern Baptist Christian, woman, single-again, twice-divorced,natural mother of only two children who are grown daughters named Jennifer and Leigh, and also a republican, personhood promoter, prolife activist-blogger, photographer, artist in all mediums, poet, author, illustrator, cartoonist, writer, University of Georgia alumna, U S citizen born in the state of Georgia [but I lived in several places including New York, UK briefly, Nebraska, South Carolina, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina], former TV producer,tweeter, Registered Nurse licensed in Missouri [but before that in Georgia, UK, other states], writer for words that WORK, and Tapestry of LIFE, photographer, and citizen journo . Gloria Poole is my real, born with legal name and I resumed my full maiden name including my surname of Poole legally by Court order at the time of divorce from male DBP in Colorado in Oct, 2007 at Centennial, Colorado; and I also removed the Pappas name from my name forevermore at the time of final decree in Oct 2007 . I was glad to end that four year horrible marriage of multiple trauma and injuries to me caused by male DBP, [which I testified about in Court on several occasions ]. That second divorce is public record in the state of Colorado, and my first divorce is public record in the state of Georgia. I have created art regularly since 1991, and I had formal training in drawing and in mixing colors /paint and painting in oils and I post much of the art I create on blogs of mine.
