This is about the eighth sketch of a red rose I have drawn and painted. I keep trying to get to the point where it looks like a real rose. So I think I have to draw and paint it ninety two more times! [The now dead but very famous artist Michelango said to improve your painting draw, draw, draw and that to capture something draw it one hundred times, but those are not his exact words.] I signed this as I always sign art that i consider finished except on occasion when I absent-mindedly sign art I also sign my born with, legal surname of Poole on it. I drew this one night very late on ordinary ink jet paper for business. This is my selfie in spring 2014 but I look the same except thinner and my hair is longer. I still put my hair in lop-sided pony-tail when I walkabout or paint to prevent hair from getting into my eyes, or into my paints or inks.
