This is my attempt to draw what I [Gloria Poole,R,artist] think an archeological dig would look like, with trenches dug by a tractor or backhoe, and artifacts in their places if near an ocean, or that was land once under water. It is a simple drawing I made at 4am this morning before breakfast. I photographed it several times trying to make it look deeper contrasts but I was trying to make it look like soil and clay. It's simply an idea onto paper 9 x 12 inches in size in my sketchbook of the moment.the shiny object is a clamp on my drawing board. I used a ruler to draw this and watercolor pencils. Then washed over it with wet brush. This is my selfie in spring 2014 but I look the same except thinner and my hair is longer. I still put my hair in lop-sided pony-tail when I walkabout or paint to prevent hair from getting into my eyes, or into my paints or inks.
