Butterfly ands surreal sketches made today by Gloria Poole,RN, artist of /in Missouri
This is a sketch I made using several mediums. I drew it to begin with in inktense, then "painted" it with inktense and a wash of water over it. Then didn't like it, so I added some acrylic to it. Then I signed it, photographed it, uploaded it and added it to this blog of mine. It is 9 x12 on paper in my sketchbook.
This is a sketch I made today 8th August, 2015 after lunch. I have never used black paper before and so this was an experiment. I am trying to get as good at drawing in chalk as I am in pencil or ink. My reason for doing that is because all of the famous artists honed their skills with chalk! So I think it must teach a discipline that other mediums do not. This is 11 x14 on paper. I drew this entirely with chalks. This is a surreal sketch --it has no particular meaning but you can read into it whatever you like. I signed it, photographed it, uploaded it and posted it as is true of ALL art on this blog.

This is one of my photos of the U S flag that I photographed on walkabout, to remind all that I am U S citizen in the continental U S [Missouri] with all guarantees of the U S Constitution including the first amendment.
This is my selfie in spring 2014 but I look the same except thinner and my hair is longer. I still put my hair in lop-sided pony-tail when I walkabout or paint to prevent hair from getting into my eyes, or into my paints or inks.
