Encaustic sketches tropical fish and lipstick abstract made today by Gloria Poole,RN, artist of /in Missouri
This is an encaustic sketch I made today of a tropical fish. I used a hot soldering iron with a tiny palette knife tip and an calligraphy tip to make this using wax as medium. It is 11 x14 on britol board. I signed it by scratching my name into the wax in the bottom left corner. I am practicing making encaustic sketches and also made more this am very early and late yesterday and put some of them on my https://gloriapoole.blogspot.com. I photographed it, uploaded it and posted it to this blog of mine as is true of ALL art on this blog.
This is another encaustic [made with wax as binder] sketch I made today after lunch. It is an abstract with the color of lipstick on 11 x14 bristol board.

This is my selfie in spring 2014 but I look the same except thinner and my hair is longer. I still put my hair in lop-sided pony-tail when I walkabout or paint to prevent hair from getting into my eyes, or into my paints or inks.
