Sketch cardinal and drawing my bed made by me Gloria Poole,RN,artist of/in Missouri

I drew this pencil drawing of the headboard on my bed on 22nd of January 2016 but forgot about it. So, I am posting it here today, just because. I have been drawing today earlier and posted that drawing to my:

I drew it, signed it, photographed it and uploaded it on the 22nd of January but put it on this blog of mine today 5th of Feb 2016. I drew this one night when I couldn't sleep but was too tired to get up so just drew it from my bed! Copyrighted. Also, I put a cartoon of a cardinal in flight below. Cartoons are very serious art for some people but usually they are just fun for me, trying to think in a new way to make people smile a bit. Those are my fingers on the edge of the cartoon of the cardinal. A lot of people draw political cartoons but usually I do not. I did draw 30 cartoons to illustrate the book I wrote and named "The Adventures of Lady Bugs that give picnics" which is currently posted to the top post on my https://cartooning-by-gloriapoole.blogspot.com, blog.

This is a cartoon sort of, of a Northern cardinal in flight. I love the color red and I drew with red ink just today. Cardinals are bright red almost totally except for a black patch around their eyes. They are common birds in Missouri and I watch them from my balcony at times. I did not attempt to make this cartoon look like it was actually flying, though perhaps I should have. I am trying to teach myself how to draw motion into a picture or painting or sketch or drawing. Copyrighted. This cartoon is on 8 x 11 inch paper and I painted it with watercolor and a brush.

If you have ever read art history or studied it, you know in previous centuries of art the word "cartoon" simply meant a drawing often in red chalk. Also, thanks to my readers/ viewers in seven countries for the post before this one. I look at the Google stats every time I log in to keep up with where I am gaining readers/ viewers. Thank y'all very much! In all blogs and sites of mine, I have viewers from about 20 different countries now and they view different blogs. I have not quite figured out what attracts people to which blog but I pay attention to the stats.

This is my selfie in spring 2014 but I look the same except thinner and my hair is longer. I still put my hair in lop-sided pony-tail when I walkabout or paint to prevent hair from getting into my eyes, or into my paints or inks.
