The Next NATO Sec-Gen's sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri

I, Gloria Poole, am putting here on this blog of mine another sketch of a Prime Minister, or in this case a former Prime Minister of Norway, who is Jens Stoltenberg of Norway who is to be the next NATO Secretary-General. I drew, painted, signed, photographed and uploaded this sketch of Mr Stoltenberg to this blog to go along with the seven sketches of Prime Ministers that I drew, painted, signed, photographed, uploaded to my blog https://gloriapoole.blogspot.com yesterday. I could not add another sketch to that post without having to adjust it a good bit so I am putting this sketch here. I drew this from the photo of Mr Stoltenberg that was in the NY times yesterday that I saw on web. But I changed it so his eyes in sketch were looking straight ahead instead of to side. I tried to replicate his clothing as I saw it in the news. You can also read most of my hand-written notes to myself in pencil to the side of the drawing. I drew it first, then painted it in acrylics on paper. The notes are generally for my purpose so It prompts me to paint it as authentically as possible when painting real people. Mr Stoltenberg is a LIVING real person who is to be the next NATO Secretary General and he was a former Prime Minister of Norway also. I reasoned if he was on front page NY Times as the next NATO Secretary-General he is not a "private" person which is a standard in the law. Also, note that the dark smudge on right side of his "face" was not intentional and was not on his face in NY Times' photo.. I did that unintentionally with brush with brown paint on it and didn't notice it before I photographed it. Utopia Station Train sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia

I, Gloria Poole, drew this sketch and first painted it with watercolors. Then when I photographed it, I realized the perspective was wrong by much. So re-drew parts of it, and repainted it in acrylics and signed it, yesterday. Also, the background trees are watercolor so this is a mixed media sketch on paper in my sketch book, size 9x12 inches. And I had much trouble with that wrought iron cow-catcher on the front of train. I re-drew that so many times, finally just thought "it's finished for now" and probably a re-do later. This is on paper and is on my portable drawing board. I intended the landscape to be sort of red clay, sparse and selected the name "Utopia Station" precisely because much of the world lives in rural, [agrarian] land that might have sparse train stations. There is no such place as "Utopia Station" as far as I know. I made up that name and place. And of course, a real train would be either with a smokestack if a vintage train, or a lot of bells and whistles and ads on the sides of cars, etc. I simplified this "train" to focus on the engine of it, and the station. Hope you viewers like it. It is on my portable drawing board but I also draw at my drawing tabel, and on easels with canvases on them etc. I photograph sketches with that drawing board often because it has metal clamps that hold it in place. I also photograph art I create on my easels. Also, if you scroll all to the right edge you will see the metal clamps. The reflection is from the camera flash as it bounced light off a oil painting on my wall to the right. That painting reflected in the metal clamps is one I painted in 2011 and named "The Lawn." It is on other blogs of mine and I think also in my Picasa albums of art I created. Just so you know.

Also, I created a new blog named Mini Exhibition with title "Gloria's blog" at https://mini-exhibition.blogspot.com, and the first post I put on it, is the most recent ethnic oil paintings I painted in the ethnic series I have been painting since 2006. I intend to put art that I created as a series or set on that particular blog.

That Zingy Red I put in paintings by Gloria Poole of Missouri

This is the 5th blog I have created in my "mini-exhibit" of the color red [paint] that I painted with to create art. More on that. The first one is an oil on canvas painting I painted and named "Irish student" last year as part of the ethnic series of oil paintings that I began in yr 2007 and continue to add too. .

The second one is a sketch of Prince Charles in his military uniform. It is one of about five sketches I drew then painted of him over a few years time and is acrylic on paper.

The third one is a sketch of a Chinese tour guide, that I saw in news. It acrylic is on paper.

The 4th one here is a cartoon I drew and painted of a circus act. I sketched it for my then-two-years-old grandson .

The 5th one here is a sketch of a red lamp. I have lamps but none of them are red; but I love the color red and liked the idea of soft yellow light from a warm color of red, so created a lamp on paper.

The sixth one you see here is a sketch of a rodeo rider, that I drew and painted from seeing rodeo news.

Cyber-criminals broke into this blog of mine also: help #FBI and #Google

Well, I, Gloria Poole, tried three times to upload my photo of the sketch I finished a few minutes ago, and it disappeared all three times! Cyber-criminals have hacked this blog also, it seems. So, meanwhile, #Google and the good #FBI will get it corrected, I am sure. I have confidence in them. I am putting here three of the ethnic sketches I created and one of the still life sketches I created. I am adding to this and all my blogs intermittently. As reminder to world that the obit that was on line was not mine! I am alive, and I am creating art almost daily, and I am adding some of it to my blogs, including some from years ago, to connect in viewers minds that I am the same woman who is white, single, christian, woman and mother of two grown daughters whose names are Jennifer and Leigh. I am also a Registered Nurse, licensed in Missouri. And an artist in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen/inks, powdered pastels, pencils, goauche, tempera for many years. Also, a reminder to world that I am NOT on Facebook or Pinterest and was NEVER on Facebook or Pinterest, and NEVER lived in Jacksonville, Florida.

I am putting four more of the sketches I drew / painted on this blog. They are a variety for you viewers. The first one is a watercolor sketch i drew yrs ago and named it "Aramaic man" for the ethnic series I am creating that consists of about 20 oil paintings and hundreds of sketches, so far. I have a separate Picas album with those sketches and paintings of the ethnic series I created on it. These sketches are from yr 2009 I think [look on them] and they have been displayed before on domains that were stolen from me. I have the original art I created and rephotographed them to add to my blogs again to clarify that they are art works I created and that I Gloria Poole own the copyrights too. I have posted copyright notices on this blog before and on every blog of mine.

The second sketch is one of my granddaughters as she looked [sort of, not exactly] at a formal wedding.

The third sketch is a pencil drawing of a big horn sheep, which is one of the few times I drew an animal.

The fourth sketch is similar to a photo I saw in the BBC news of a "Sikh bride on her wedding day." it was intersting to me because it indicates their sacred color is something other than white for bridal gowns. I am a woman and I pay attention to fashion.

Ethnic sketches: Argentinian by Gloria Poole

I am adding four of the ethnic sketches I completed this morning to this blog of mine. The first one is named Argentinian President [my attempt at real person]. I have hand written notes on these as to color of eyes, hair, skin, clothing but I modify them often [called "artistic license"]. These sketches are watercolor and the Tamil tiger also has acrylic on it:

The second sketch is supposed to resemble the Iranian [also known in Bible as Persians] President.

The third sketch is named German Man from the BBC . All of these sketches were drawn by me as I looked at photos in the news of real people. I designate when I am attempting to draw and or paint a real living person. Usually I paint people I make up in my head as I am drawing.

The fourth is my version of a Tamil "Tiger" woman from Sri Lanka that was in a group in the news. I try to refer to authentic costumes or apparel when creating sketches or paintings for the ethnic series I am creating.
